Thermal Cooler Bypass Valve with Install Kit to suit Ranger and BT-50 6 Speed Autos.
Adding a thermal bypass valve allows your cooler to operate at 100% capacity all the time. This is beneficial when towing and touring, particularly in warmer climates as we have in Australia and New Zealand.

Just yesterday 25/6/25 i had the trans cooler , bigger oil pan and thermal bypass valve fitted with Rowel and Searle in Adelaide which i bought from wholesale automatics , i feel more at ease now that the factory cooling system has been eliminated , the temp on the gearbox now so far runs at about 60 degrees instead of the normal 96 degrees granted its now winter , but yes I am happy with the product , next will be the torgue converter since the guy at Rowel and Searle told me its a common thing to go as well .

Great mod along with the twin cooler to reduce my transmission temps by 30-35 degrees. My transmission would run at 95 degrees everyday before the mods but when towing with 2 ton on the back even in 10 degree ambient temps it would run at 105-110 degrees, haven’t towed yet but I am expecting it to run at between 70 and 85 degrees.
The installation instructions are easy to follow and yes I would recommend this and the twin cooler.
Trans temps during normal towing have dropped by 20 degrees since installing the bypass valve.
Easy as to install, doing this is obviously messy but parts were good quality with really clear instructions
Works well,temps are a lot lower. Dispatch times could be improved though.
Awesome big difference compare to stock valve
Had previously fitted a twin trans cooler to my PX2, wanted to see the affect it would make…minimal by itself so I fitted the thermal by-pass valve kit and a oil change..it is crazy the difference..20 degree’s cooler..mind blown..should have done it well before now.
Absolutely recommend doing it if you own a Ranger or BT50.

Keeps trans temp low and and smother gear changes under load.
